Student guide
The Acadian Museum of Prince Edward Island in Miscouche is looking for a student to work as museum guide.
The principal duties of the employee will be to welcome visitors, work in the gift shop, answer visitors’ questions and to give guided tours as needed. The employee will also get a chance to familiarize themselves with resources available in the archives and genealogy centre.
The ideal candidate will have good interpersonal skills, be resourceful, have good computer skills and be able to work alone or on a team. Ideal employees will be interested in learning more about Acadian history as well as Island history.
A student may be eligible for employment through YCW if they:
- are a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident, or have refugee status in Canada (non-Canadians holding temporary work visas or awaiting permanent resident status are not eligible);
- are legally entitled to work in Canada (have a valid social insurance number);
- are between 16 and 30 years of age inclusively at the start of employment; and
- are a high school, college, CEGEP or university student.
